Background:
As a part of R&D, Global Safety’s Regulatory Intelligence Strategy and Priorities, Pharmacovigilance Operations Regions seeks to invest in developing opportunities for rising professionals in science, business, and/or medicine. The GS, PV Ops Talent Team has agreed to support 2 interns for 2024-2025. This opportunity will support our goal of building a diverse pipeline of future talent. The PVRI Interns (2-4 positions) will report to GS, PV Ops Regions as preceptor.
PVRI:
Objective:
In Global Safety, US & Regions, interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced pharmacovigilance industry professionals and gain valuable, hands-on work experience. During this period, interns will be immersed in the environment of both US & global pharmacovigilance and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. Our Global Safety, Regional program also includes instructor led trainings, a Regional leadership team engagement opportunity, and guided mentorship though professional coaching. In addition to individual department responsibilities, interns will be assigned to cross-functional teams, have the opportunity to work closely to develop an innovative and comprehensive solution to a business problem facing Global Safety Regions. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their findings and solutions to the Global Safety Regional leadership team and other officials representing the various lines of business.
Key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
1. Supporting the Director of Director, US & Regions Intelligence Oversight, Pharmacovigilance Operations, Global Safety and serving as liaison for PVRI within other functions.
2. Conducting the review of relevant sources to identify new or updated PVRI topics and adds them into the PVRI repository (e.g. collect, track, triage, assess, reconcile, etc.).
3. Determining if the PVRI topic is in scope and conducting all steps necessary to complete the PVRI activities loop.
4. Tracking and distributing PVRI topics which require further actions to the applicable distribution group(s), GPOs, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) or other functional collaborator.
5. Preparing and distributing a monthly report to communicate the identified PVRI topics.
6. Assist with the planning and supporting of other Global Safety Regional priority projects.
