Medical Coding Specialist I at ICON

Roles and Responsibilities:

Functional Knowledge:
• Developing a working functional knowledge level of coding in the context of clinical data management.

Business Expertise:
• Ability to apply working knowledge of clinical data developed through education or past experiences.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned as required

Leadership:
• Typically 0-3 years of experience in this role. An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered in place of education and experience requirements.
• Ability and willingness to be a contributing team member.
• Developing technical acumen and applying acquired knowledge to delivery requirements.

Problem Solving:
• Use existing procedures to solve basic and routine problems; analyse information and standard practices to make judgement calls.
Impact:
• Contribute to the achievement of goals through personal effort in own work area and influence over others.
• Impact is focused on immediate delivery of tasks.
• Work is assessed regularly and under significant guidance and direction as required by developing competency.
Interpersonal Skills:
• Interpret data to deliver messages. Requires objective review of work problems, obtaining cooperation or approval.
